Alexander Wheeler

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Georgetown University '17
Major in Political Economy
Hometown: Beverly, MA

Alex likes to hum hymns to himself, got a Shiba Inu before they went viral, and only wears colors that complement his eyes. He lives in Washington, DC where he avoids school assignments and responsibilities by walking aimlessly around the city. He's looking forward to buckling down in Ho Chi Minh City, where he'll work on reducing road traffic injuries and fatalities while monitoring his coffee and condensed milk consumption.

I love cats, turntables, and dim sum! People can usually find me riding around town on a fire truck, building an igloo in front of my dorms, or yelling in Chinese over a game of Mahjong!

Major in History

Fun fact: I have lived in seven different places, so finding a 'home town' is often complicated. Beyond that, I enjoy movie trailers more than movies and love lentils.

Chocolate. Cupcakes. Chocolate cupcakes. That’s basically all I need in life!
I’m from Germany and value punctuality, so you will see me most often sprinting across campus, trying to be on time. Also, I’ve had the chance to live in New York for one year and I spent my last year in Bulgaria, volunteering and hitchhiking. Oh, and when I get tired I respond exclusively with English song texts because I’m too lazy to make up my own sentences. Can’t wait to learn some Chinese song lines to add to my repertoire!

Brittney Woodrum

Bangkok, Thailand

University of Kentucky ‘15
Major in Arts Administration and Hispanic Studies
Hometown: Winchester, KY

Brittney, a Kentucky native and musical fanatic, is super crazy excited to JUMP! into her second year with PiA. After a year of kicking it with the nuns, she’s snatching that $3 AirAsia ticket (plus tax) from RGN to BKK (but more likely DMK). Things she’s most excited about for the next year: learning Thai, working for the coolest nonprofit in Southeast Asia, and taking on the big mango itself with all her PiA besties. Brittney loves to host, so if you’re swinging through Bangkok, hit ‘er up!
