Summer Internship: 

1 position in Tokyo working for a Japanese charitable organization that serves children who have lost one or more parent from around the world. The Fellow will work in the dormitory setting with students studying at local colleges and universities in Japan. The organization provides scholarships and loans, as well as emotional care and educational guidance to children who have lost one or both parents. Resilience, hard work, and companionship are important values taught at the organization, and are required characteristics for a Fellow. The Fellow will assist students through English language tutoring, help coordinate summer programs, coordinate with the charity’s international interns, and assist with other programmatic and/or administrative duties as necessary. The Fellow will become an integral part of the community. Successful candidates will possess strong interpersonal skills as well as strong written and verbal communication skills. Housing is provided in the kokoro juku on the edge of Tokyo. Position begins in July. 

Language requirement: Basic proficiency in Japanese strongly preferred.
