Soc Trang

Jenni Cochran graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 2009 with an Anthropology major and a concentration in Environmental studies. Her love of Vietnam started in college where she spent a year as part of an international studies program in the Mekong Delta region studying alternative rice-shrimp systems. Her love of the Mekong has only grown in the past year and she has signed on for year a second year on PiA as an English lecturer at PiA’s newest post in the Delta with Soc Trang Community College. Located in a quiet predominately Khmer community nestled deep in the Mekong Delta, Jenni spends her days exploring the road side food stands, floating down the Mekong, and shrimp catching with the farmers. She has found a new home and her parents are wondering if she’ll every come back!
