Christopher enjoyed this past year teaching in Hong Kong, as he became enamored of the region's dependable mass transit, outdoor escalators, and efficient government services. He imagines Cambodia will be exactly the same. Growing up in Portland, Oregon has instilled in Christopher a love for land-use planning and locally produced beers, as well providing him with a nuanced vocabulary to describe drizzle. As a cultural anthropology major from Columbia, he learned many skills—how to use the word "ontology" perhaps being the most useful. Other interests of his include em dashes (but not en dashes), sans-serif fonts other than Helvetica, and monster trucks.  All of this, he is absolutely certain, will come in handy at his job at the Phnom Penh Post.
