Fellowship Year:
Teach For China

Amanda is graduating from the George Washington University with a Major in International Development and Latin American Studies. Amanda is hardworking, enthusiastic and loves adventure.  She is fluent in Spanish and is currently studying Mandarin.  She loves using foreign languages to connect with people around the world, and doesn’t mind looking like the silly foreigner if it wins her a new friend.  She had the amazing opportunity to spend her junior year of college studying abroad in both South America and China.  During this time, she not only picked up useful skills such as how to peel potatoes with a blunt knife and eat an orange with chopsticks, but also spent over a month teaching English in rural China.  She discovered a passion for teaching and hopes to apply her creativity and diligence to her new classroom.
