Ann Waddell

May 22, 2005

Ann Waddell graduated from Princeton in 2002 and received her MFA from Massachusetts College of Art in 2005. Having studied Chinese at Princeton, Ann was ecstatic to return to Beijing, the fastest-growing city in all of Asia. While not teaching at China Foreign Affairs University, she is usually found photographing off of street crossings, eating hotpot or red bean buns, doing yoga at a studio near the Lama Temple, hanging out with tall Chinese women and short Chinese men, bicycling, gallery-hopping, or losing at Chinese chess. Ann says the spontaneity of teaching has made her job more fun. "One class I'm listening to a junior's business proposal for a cosmetics company, and the next I'm teaching my freshman about the many varied things an American might wear at Halloween."
