Nina Henning

October 22, 2005

Nina set off for Kathmandu, Nepal in October, 2001 for what she anticipated to be a one-year Himalayan adventure. This week Nina celebrates her 4-year anniversary as a resident of Kathmandu, where she manages Wild Earth and guides the company to the top of its niche as producer of the finest handcrafted herbal bodycare products in the Himalayas and as an innovator in the revival of indigenous healing therapies. In her free time, Nina volunteers with the Buddhist Child Home (BCH) orphanage. She spends part of every weekend with the orphanage's 40 kids: playing soccer, making arts and crafts projects and taking them on field trips. She also fundraises for the BCH and serves on their Advisory Board. Other highlights of her life in Asia include a pilgrimage around Mt. Kailash in Western Tibet, Christmases in Goa, South India, and a trip with her mom to Afghanistan this Spring. PiA was the catalyst for all the life-enriching experiences Nina has had over the past 4 years and she wouldn't trade them for anything.
