Leslie Ann Medema

March 22, 2006

Leslie has been heading East ever since leaving her home in South Dakota to become only one of two from the vast lands of "Great Faces, Great Places" to ever receive a Masters in Public Policy from Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School.  A proud graduate of the University of South Dakota 4 years earlier, she worked in rural development and as a civics instructor for an NGO in DC.  In between she learned the words to every Brittney Spears song as a school bus driver, made the world’s largest bowl of Jello as the head cook at a camp in Alaska, and researched genetically modified cotton in India.  After graduating from Princeton, Leslie ventured farther East to teach English at Can Tho University in 2004.  From one delta to the next, Leslie left Vietnam in 2005 and headed to Mississippi to volunteer at a Vietnamese Buddhist temple to help with Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.  Now working for PiA on this side of the globe, Leslie is PiA's new Program Director and readjusting to the foreign lands we call Princeton.
