Jonathan Haagen

August 22, 2005

In late summer 2003 China lost SARS and gained Jonathan Haagen.  During his year in Dong Bei Da Xue, Shenyang, he taught English, history, and film, edited University publications, and gave papers at international conferences. He also added resume-builders like lounge singer, actor, fashion model, and semi-professional basketball player to his CV in Shenyang.  After returning to North Carolina, he slept for a month and then wrote down his experience. The Liaoning Education Press has already contacted him about publishing his story in China. The manuscript is currently in translation and the US rights are up for grabs (hint hint).  After achieving what we're sure will be notable literary acclaim (and lots of fan mail from us), Jonathan plans to return to China and gather material for his sequel.
