In 2001, PiA established an additional method of communicating important safety concerns to fellows in the field. Each country in which PiA operates has a Safety Aadvisor(s) with significant Asian living experience and who is up to date on all the current events in that country. If an emergency occurs in your Asian country, the Safety Advisor will play a crucial role in helping you handle the situation. The Safety Advisors can also help fellows with issues ranging from recommendations for good doctors or medical facilities in town to safety advice in the case of political instability. In addition, at orientation all fellows will receive a contact information sheet for all Safety Advisors in all countries in which PiA operates. The list of PiA Safety Advisors is updated each year.
