1 summer position working as a copy-editor with one of Indonesia's major English-language newspapers in Jakarta. The intern will edit both local and international stories, and will also have opportunities to research and write his/her own stories for the Features desk. This position is ideal for a self-starter who is willing to pitch his/her own stories. Applicants interested in media and journalism are encouraged to apply; a basic background in journalism is preferred. Knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia is not required, but there are ample opportunities to study the language once on the ground. In order to receive funding, interns usually apply for a journalism grant through Princeton, which will cover airfare and living expenses in Jakarta. The position runs from mid-June through mid-August.
