1 position outside of Phnom Penh teaching at a cutting edge non-profit school. The school serves high-potential, economically disadvantaged Cambodian secondary school students through an academic program based on learning and a focus on entrepreneurship, innovation, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math). The Fellow will be working with students in several areas. First, teaching practical, interesting seminars and/or short courses on topics such as design thinking, engineering basics, computer science (ex: networks, coding), etc. Secondly, the Fellow will have the opportunity to work with a small group of students to design and implement a two month project or “Exploration” that will be based on the expertise and interests of the Fellow such as technology, engineering, design, etc. Lastly, the Fellow will have the opportunity to help develop their own maker space, a place for students to build and construct both low tech and high products ranging from computer apps to small robots. Successful applicants will have a background in computer science, engineering, or a related field, a desire to form deep and meaningful relationships with students as both a teacher and a mentor, and excitement for being immersed in daily life at the school. Housing is provided at the school complex. Start date is flexible.
