The Partnership Process

It can take anywhere from 6-18 months to establish a PiA partnership. After receiving an application from a potential partner, PiA will conduct a due diligence site visit to meet contacts at the organization, visit the school or office, and establish connections within the local community. This typically happens during the PiA staff's annual Asia trip in October and November each year, though an "off-cycle" site visit may be possible. For most new partnerships, PiA and the partner organization will work together to establish a Memorandum of Understanding following the site visit. The first fellow posted to a new partner organization will follow PiA's established fellowship cycle, beginning work between June and September of the inaugural fellowship year.

As an organization, PiA has always been proud of our nimbleness and ability to respond opportunitistically to evolving circumstances and new opportunities in Asia. If your organization is interested in partnering with PiA or you know of an organization that could be a good candidate for PiA partnership, regardless of resources, capacities or calendar, please get in touch with us at pia@princeton.edu to learn more. We look forward to hearing from you!
